The Good Futures Awards are back. For the second year, RootedGood will award $10,000 to churches that complete the Good Futures Accelerator and bring forward bold, creative ideas for a social enterprise: a business or venture that earns income while meeting a real need in its neighborhood.
Why it matters
We believe churches are uniquely positioned to create lasting good in their communities, not just through service, but through innovation. Many congregations already hold what a new venture needs: a building, land, relationships, and people who care deeply about their neighbors. The Good Futures Awards celebrate and support that creativity, helping churches turn inspired ideas into real, sustainable change.
Last year’s Neighbor Award went to Second United Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, which is opening a neighborhood café that offers job training to women in recovery, a children’s play area, and programs with the library across the street. Read their story.
